Day 20, June 18th
We got into Melbourne and settled into the Park Hyatt. We awoke this morning, ate an amazing breakfast and went out to explore the city.
Dakota is not feeling well and is suffering from the same cold Sydney had, so we went out and explored melbourne without Dakota. First stop was to find St. Kilda’s beach so we could be ready to see the wild penguins.
We then found the National Gallery of Victoria which is free and totally amazing! We saw Picasso’s, Monets and they had a wonderful fashion show of dresses from the mid 1800s to mid 1900s which was spread throughout the hanging art.
We ate “the most delicious churros in the world” and went back to the hotel to get Dakota.
Sydney had done some research and found out that you could see live penguins in their natural habitat if you went at dusk. It’s winter here in Melbourne but still sure enough we were able to spot some penguins all settled in for the night. Dakota was so excited! I prayed she would see a penguin and she saw two! We ate dinner at “The European” and then went to bed.
