Day 23- Sailing on the Dawn Treader
On Tuesday morning we caught a ferry so that we could take a voyage on the Dawn Treader.
This sailboat belongs to Mike Manning (The VP of Advancement for Young Life of Canada) and he was nice enough to take out out on his boat and we were hosted by Carol and Mike O’Leary.
Before we left the dock we studied the charts to be sure that we would not get lost…
We sailed to the Hawaiian island. I’m not kidding, there’s actually an island that was settled by Hawaiians in the early 1900s. It is called Russell Island.
Each child got to steer the ship.
Here is Jack steering the Ship being instructed by Mike Manning

Jack really enjoyed telling his little sister how to steer the ship.
We toured the Hawaiian island, got back on the boat and sailed to Poets Cove where we stayed at a gorgeous resort. Here is the view of the resort as we pulled up,
and then the view from our condo at Poets Cove
We ended the day having dinner at the Pub at the hotel. It was truly a wonderful day– possibly the best day of our trip thus far.

Yes! The weather is so cool. People keep apologizing for how hot it is and we say it's a Florida winter!
