Monkey and Sugar

Today started with everyone sleeping 12 hours except for Brad who slept seven. After waking up we went down and had an amazing breakfast buffet.

Then we got in our car and went to Sugarloaf Mountain and we went on a gondola up to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain and Wendy spotted amazing restaurant and we had lunch overlooking Rio de Janeiro.

The View from the First Gondola

Surprised to find an amazing table, we sat down and ordered poke bowls, french fries, and strawberry Panna Cota. The view from the restaurant was nothing like we’ve ever seen before. The City was bustling on all sides of us and the water reflected the sun in beautiful ways.

It took two gondolas to get were we were. Getting back took the same, past an eclectic mix of Chicago hotdog stands, tourist-trap shops and caned, authentic music. All excellent — the view was incredible. We hoped to catch a boat tour that our hotel offers for free, but time was short. The drive took a few years off of dad, but we managed to get back to the hotel just in time. Major thanks to google maps which navigated us through an active parking garage!

Heading down from Sugarloaf

In a car ride home, which was inspired by Fast and Furious, we quickly navigated through the chaotic streets of Rio to the destination of our hotel. We then jumped out of the car and made it to our boat ride. On the walk to our adventure we were lucky enough to spot many exotic creatures, which will be posted below.

After our walk to the boat we met our tour guide and he took us on a tour to explore the mangroves on Black Lagoon. Before the boat tour we actually saw a monkey, a chicken and a Capybara. We learned about all the different types of mangroves and creatures that live on the lagoon.

Following the boat ride we went up to the club and ate dinner, for free, and enjoyed all sorts of amazing things including Keylime mousse.

Love reading the blog! Hope Jonathan got Wendy’s car charged and made it home. So thankful Max found Jesus❤️Great job, Brad and Jack, doing math (I love math now-it only took 45 years🤣). Wendy, Dakota and Sydney memorize this Portuguese for future aggressive car watchers, fast and furious driving, etc: “¡Eu não concordei com isso!”
