Our First Full Day in Dubai

Our first full day in Dubai started a bit later than usual—we woke up at noon, still adjusting after getting in so late last night. But what better place to ease into the day than in the Grand Hyatt?

Once we finally got going, our first stop was the iconic Burj Khalifa. Standing at the top of the tallest building in the world is an experience that’s hard to put into words. The views are absolutely breathtaking, offering a panoramic glimpse of Dubai that stretches out to the horizon. Seeing the city from such a height really gives you a sense of just how expansive and vibrant Dubai is.

After taking in the views, we made our way to the Dubai Mall. It’s not just a shopping center—it’s an entire world unto itself. We wandered through its endless corridors, marveling at everything from high-end fashion boutiques to indoor waterfalls. It’s easy to lose track of time in there, with so much to see and do.

We wrapped up the day with dinner at The Collective, the buffet restaurant back at our hotel. “Buffet” doesn’t quite do it justice—it was an exquisite culinary journey, offering a variety of dishes that satisfied every craving. From Middle Eastern delicacies to international favorites, everything was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. It was the perfect way to end our day. They even made a glutton free pizza for Astrid!

Dubai has already shown us so much in just one day, and we’re looking forward to seeing what tomorrow has in store!
